it runs fine, just here the noise once in a while. and yes its an ex cab short bed. it was funny hearing the owner say its the suspension, when you brake hard or put a heavy load you here it kick in because it has z71 suspension haha. can tell he dont know what he's talking about. i would take off the driveshaft and lube the yoke but its not my truck yet. just hope its not a brake problem, got me guessing what if brakes get locked.

This made my day. The last week or so, my truck has been making this exact noise and thought it was something else.

My 2wd 2008 Silverado ext cab just came back from the dealer because of a fuel pump that is starting to go out... while it was at the dealer i had this same exact ''clunk'' issue addressed... the service technician said that the first few years of the nnbs had a two piece drive shaft and that this is the reason why the clunk occurs. they lubed the diff joint under warranty.... and this seems to have fixed the problem....i will look at the dealer paper work as soon as i get home to see exactly what it was they did... i was also very glad that they did not blame this issue on my lift, because this ''clunk'' has been happening even since before i installed my lift and wheels

Mines a 2000 and it does the same thing every once in awhile. It can happen once a week for a month and then not happen for a long time. Except mine happens during launch feels like the tranny slipped for a second.
