if you plan to run a 4l60e i would stay with the fuel injection. if not carb is a good way to go.

I'm going carb because it fun to play with easy to change and tune. T'll run the stock trans for now 700R4 unitl it dies then build a better one down the road. The trucks just a toy so the benefits of efi dont really apply. plus some thing with a carb'd v8 fills the void of my camaro i no longer have to play with.

the only reason i said this is because if you want to run a 4l60e to say fuel injection and keep the factory computer to control the transmission. with the 60e behind a carb you need a 600$ controller and then you need a tps to make it work properly. and guys running the controllers say they dont work completely right. i decided to beef up the 700 and run that because there is no controller or anything but a cable needed to control the transmission

makes sense. ive heard nothing but good things about the fast ez-tcu controller. i think i decided to go full manual valve body with my transmissino though so theres another option

ya the manual valve body is a good idea but most dont want to be shifting it all the time or they use a 5 or 6 speed tranny if they want full manual. alot of the guys say with the fast ecu it goes all weird if you jump on it to to pass a car and when it goes down shift then say let off the throttle it gets all confused and acts funny for a little bit. but i have no personal experience i can just go by the info ive read on line.
