    You don't need it. At all. My truck wishes it was abused so it got treated better, and it has never once gotten hot. It's just not possible up here.

    I removed the oil cooler on all 3 of my swaps, and haven't had a problem yet. I just bought a blockoff kit from the dealer, which consists of blockoff plate, a gasket, and two bolts. The whole thing cost me about $15.00, mine was for a 5.7 so maybe yours will be different price.

    Do the newer lines have a metric fitting? You could also just get some braided line with an fittings.

    I'd run one myself. Oil should last longer cool. I'd be more worried about oil break-down than the motor heating up. Even with the factory cooler it'll run 250+* when it's 80* outside.
