i had actually looked at those same headers just a couple days ago.

They raise a couple questions though. would i be better off sticking with the 2.5" true dual setup, or using the supplied y-pipe, and going back to a 3" SI/SO setup.
If i decide to stay with the true duals, does anyone know if you can find those for sale without the y-pipe?

FWIW, if i stay with the true duals, i was eventually wanting to get an x or h pipe in there and some better mufflers.

I would swap to the single and use the supplied ypipe. I have them and they are very nice. The quality is outstanding for the money. I also like single exhaust. A single 3" is good to a little north of 400 horse before it becomes restrictive. Just my 2 cents.

My old setup was the factory piping, into a SI/DO flowmaster, and i'm kinda partial to having the dual tips exiting out the back. What are the pros and cons of going to another SI/DO vs a SI/SO?

Normally when you have a SI/DO muffler the dual outs are smaller than the single inlet...I had true duals with 2.5" flowmaster 40 series delta flow mufflers, went to PaceSetter LT's with 3" ORY and single 3" exhaust and it was SOOOOOOOO much better.

That's more or less what i was thinking.

If i go this route, it puts me needing a new muffler. I'm curious to try something other than flowmaster. Like I said before, I'm curious about magnaflow and spintech but don't have personal experience with either of them. both seem to have a decent reputation.
being a mostly stock truck and planning to mostly keep it that way, I think that decision will boil down mostly to what i like better as far as the sound.

so what are y'alls opinions as far as sound? I know others have told me before that spintech is loud. I like it loud, I just want it sound clean and good.

Like I said above. I went from dual flows to a single flow. Sounded alright, then got a tiny manga flow that was basically sounded like open headers, and now I've got a big case magnaflow and LOVE the way it sounds. Nice and quiet at idle but has tremendous bark when you hit the skinny pedal.

Here is a pretty crappy cell phone video of it:

That sounds great, real clean. thank you for the link.
which magnaflow is that? I think I would like something just a touch more aggressive sounding at idle, but that is more or less what i'm after. A nice clean sound

EDIT: does yours have the cats on, or did you leave them off?
