You only hear the bad about these local guys because that's all the big forums with let people post about. If you post something good about a local shop that's not a sponsor, they lock the tread, delete it or whatever.

I'm not trying to talk anyone out of going with Nelson or blackbear or Wheatley or anybody else, but I am encouraging you to call these local guys and see what they have to offer
dude i know, but doing a mail order tune on a 200 shot with no way to check afr, and me not knowing how to read plugs, my truck did pretty damn good, it didnt get real bad til i started tuning it with the help of several others coaching me, I dont blame that on allen at all, if i woulda brought the truck to him, it woulda never had those problems. this new setup is gonna have to have a live tune because the shot is gonna be to big for a mail order.

    Hey Phantom,
I'm not taking your words as you slamming me either, but some little facts here.

I may have sent G a mail tune, but I have never seen any scans, logs or feedback on what the engine is doing. The tune I sent him was not intended for racing, aggressive driving, etc.
It was simply a conservative tune to start the truck and drive it a little.
Us knowing G, yes, he does race it and does drive the hell out of it, but he does know the consequences of doing so, it just happens he's been blessed by satan with an engine that can handle the abuse.
Not one time have I attempted to tune for his 200shot or any of his mods.
I simply took a list of his mods, sent a quick tune over so he could run the truck, as is.

Popping from his truck and "does not run good" are not tune related because I have never attempted to retune his truck for his mods, once I sent the first tune.
Popping could be many things, but as I've grown accustomed to, it's always the tune that is blamed.

So, don't take that G's truck doesn't run good because of the tune, because it's not tuned if you consider the above.

If G would bring his truck to SA and get it tuned, we could work all the issues out and get a real, live tune performed.

SO, those are the facts, not that I tuned G's truck and it's running bad , especially when he paid me.

I don't want to get into a debate if I'm capable of tuning his truck or not, or why it runs bad, or us slamming each other.
It seems you were simply unaware of the situation so I thought it'd be fair to G and my self to post up the facts.

I fully understand you're more than capable of tuning it properly. Like I said, you're cranking out some badass trucks down there. However, the popping and banging are directly tune related. But, since it runs fine on motor your part is a-ok. The popping is caused by too much fuel. I've tried to explain to him before why it does that, to no avail. I offered to fix it before we raced last year and I drug him down the 660 on motor lol. It runs ok on one kit but as soon as he snatches the second one, it's duck season. That second kit is going to need some fuel jet taken away from it to clean that up. Bottom line. That's something he could fix on his own

Ya too much from too large of a jet is easily corrected.
The way I like to tune nitrous:
Tune af ratio for motor only.
Install a retard box to pull timing.
Install the correct jets for fuel to reach your target af ratio when spraying.
Unless its an all out nitrous setup, most setups can be tuned this way.

Keep it simple and it works.
