When I decided to get a programmer I knew that I was going to be changing gears, and adding bolt on in the future, so I did a lot of research and the trinity was my better option, I can watch all my motors sensors while driving, that was a big point for me, I can change almost anything I want with how the trans shifts and acts any time, not to say fuel curves spark advance and so on, and its easy to get help if I need it. If I want say rear o2 deleted all I have to do is ask for an update and its free. I can data log and see what my trucks doing and make changes as I need, Which Iv had to do because of the alt diff from my home and work. I can have as many custom tunes as I need, and all I have to do is pull over and load it. Its more economical to me. And in doing all this and talking to the tuners at dioblo sport iv learned alot about my trucks computer and the sensors that run it. I also know how to tell if one is reading false, witch iv had the honor of dealing with lol. Dont get me wrong, im not downing you guys at all, Im on here to learn, you guys know better than I do what works and what dont, It seems that every one on here believes in Nelson tunes, Thats cool, But You can go to another site and every body there says go to some other guy lol, I got What is going to work best for me for what I do. I love my Trinity and dont regret spending that much money on it at all. Im 31 years old, Im not a teenager out racing every body that I see on the road, Im not at the drag strip every weekend either, So one tune isnt for me when I have more options than that. I may be grocery shopping to day and pull an 8000 pound tractor tomorrow. my truck works and plays lol.

long tube headers not a good idea if you want botton end torque. shorties will work just fine on a stock motor and keep ur milage up.

    X 2 - Like a BOSS!

truth is a custom tune will be better then any programmer " hints custom" i know with my truck { 04 gmc sierra 1500 4x4 ext cab} with full bolt on's with a nelsons 91 tune on 33' tires i was getting 21-23 on the highway. There are a few easy and inexpensive ways to free up alittle hp and also throttle response. now dont get me wrong what ya got is a huge improvement over stock. but even the tune alone will be noticeable. i say set some goals, set some money goals and see whats do able. GL with whatever u come up with ppl on here know there stuff and will help I know because ive learned alot and still do

    1) I would loose the trinity programmer and get a custom tune from Nelson performance or the likes.
    2) Swap the flowmaster for a magnaflow.
    3) Loose the throttle body spacer.
    4) Get some long tubes from calspeed.
    5) Get a p&p throttle body instead of the bbk.
    6) Underdrive pulley.
    7) Drive it and love it.
    8) If you want more you will need to do more serious mods...... Cam stall etc.

This whole statement is full of win! Who gets something just Cu's summit says its good? Wtf! And a 11 sec bolt on dmax wow id love to see that! 800hp that must mean a built engine is a bolt on along with injecotrs and upgraded turbo. Seriously bolt-ons? Grow up....

1st, it's a top selling programmer because a lot of fools like you listen to the big name manufacturers who tell you that you gain 40hp from it.
2nd, if we say the best money spent would be on an actual tune, more than likely it is true.
3rd, there is NO comparison between diesel handhelds and gas handhelds. If you don't understand why a diesel can get 150hp out of a handheld and a gasser can't, then you sir should probably go back to peddal cars and soap box derbies.
Now that you have been corrected, do some research on some valid performance sites and get yourself straightened out. Listen to what has worked for everyone else instead of trying to tell us how you KNOW what will work then get butt hurt cuz we crush you ego.
Sorry if it sounded brash, but you seem to be the type who won't listen. Good day.

Why do you need 7 dozen tunes? I DD my truck. It gets incredible mileage, considering what it is. On the street, everything short of a 'Vette is in trouble. I tow with it. I have 2 tunes. One motor, one for a 150 shot. if I want to run 87, I put 87 in it and drive, if it knocks the PCM pulls timing on it's own. I don't re-tune it.

I have HPTuners, if I have my laptop in the truck I can have a 14" screen just filled with gauges. So your Trinity argument is invalid. I don't call away for an update. I do it myself, or if it's above me I get a hold of my tuner and he does it or talks me through it. Once you get beyond bolt-ons, it's simply incapable.

But if you're gonna be ignorant. F off.
