Not flooded areas. The edges of lakes that have brushpiles and stumps and old trees. It's a BLAST. When crappie are spawning I can walk around and catch 50-100 in 4-5 hours. It's 10x better than regular crappie fishing because you actually stand in the water and have to fight them to you and get them unhooked and onto a stringer without losing them in the water. One slip up and they're gone. You just use little crappie jigs and a 5' pole. I've caught fish from 5ft deep to 5" deep, no lie.

I've never seen it done like that but it sounds like a hell of a good time! So where do you put your beer during all this? Ha ha. Pretty cool how the tactics for catching the same species of fish varies from state to state. You would catch some crazy looks in Mississippi fishing that way!

My waders have a big pocket on the front. I can carry 2-3 cans. VERY VERY FEW people do it around here. But people sitting there with poles look at us like we're GOD when I walk out of the water pulling 50lb of fish.

Its not bad man, them biting kinda sucks, but its really just getting over the fear of reaching into the unknown, thats why you go in with a foot(shoe on) or a stick 1st, and I dont noodle brush on the banks, cus beavers are mean

I'm not worried about beavers or turtles. But I'll cry like a little girl if a snake comes at me. Not a joke. You wanna see a grown man scream and cry, throw a snake my way. Just be prepared to have bullets thrown yours.
