Don't get me wrong,I'm takin in all the advice. I'm comparing friends of mines opinions and others on this forum helping me out, asking questions. Reading, what other way to be informed way more then I am now. What's your opinion to do w. The trans? Clutches are good, and he said the 4l65e has 5 gears better then the 4l60e

With 4:10s and a 65e youll be running 2 grand at 65-70, ive driven all over in mine and get 21 mpg, the 65e has 5 pinion planetary gearsets 60 has 4, from what I understand its on the reverse side anyways , stronger shafts but honestly that crap dont mean jack as soon as you add some horses, air flow means horses, 10 horses off of ported heads is absurd with supporting bolt ons. Youre on the home site of the fastest most powerful ls trucks in the country knowing what we're doing to go fast and make power is kinda our life

4l65e doesn't have 5 gears. Gm trans are done like this (number of gears(4))(longitude drive)(rating(65-80-90 etc))( and e is electonic shift I believe)

My opinion on trans is get with performabuilt or another reputable trans builder... not your hometown shops.

My old 6.0 had 224/228 cam, 3000 stall, 3.42s, stock 317s, tbss intake, mail order tune and ran 12.6-12.8. Bad 60fts yes but your goal is doable. Yes your leaving alot on the table at the track but from a roll it was a fun setup and great manners. On the bottle it managed to walk a 418 gto. So it held its own. G is right. 65e 5 pinion planets, 60e has 4. They had to use 5 cause they went to a powder metal and made it weak. So they added another planet the cheap asses. Super servos are a waste IMO a $22 vette servo be plenty.Your tranny will break just depends when. Your buddy is kinda right but like everyone said with that step your giving up 50/70 hp from heads and cam choice and prolly a full second at the track from heads, cam, stall, gear choice. You can daily drive almost anything in LS, all in the tune. You asked for our help and i pomise we are faster and have broke and tried every which setup you can think of. Just my $.02

With that being said ill deff. Look into a the bigger cam and stall. Mainly the reason I joined the site was because even tho these guys that own these shops know what they're doing, they won't share they're knowledge, won't give you what they think would be a better set up. They'll tell you what's decent. I guess for that your build won't be better then theirs. It's sucks, so that's why I'm asking you guys.

We will tell ya, just don't ask for advise and then say we are wrong. That'll piss people off and then they arnt friendly lol. There are few shops I know of that are familiar to LS enough to make a recommendation that's reliable and still make the most possible.
