Severe cold weather and TB bypass, a heads up.

I know this won't affect 96% of you guys. But like most of you I have my throttle body coolant line bypassed. Well, it was about -25 degrees this morning when I went to get a coffee. Cruising down the road, I let off the gas to slow down and the truck didn't react. Hit the clutch wouldn't idle down. So, I just gave it a shot of gas. That freed up the butterfly. Pulled over and the TB was just frosted right over frozen.

So just a heads up, it can happen and it is there for a reason.

Good thing ur truck is a standard. I've had the gas pedal stick in a automatic diesel and its not fun.

Yeah I did for now. 30 seconds, a couple clamps, no big deal.

That woulda been scary! That happened to me once when I had the 4.3L in, -35 degrees cruising back home from Ottawa, had the cruise set at around 80mph, coming into town I tapped the brake to kick the cruise off and it kept on going! Did the same thing, pressed the clutch in and it engine rose up and started bouncing off the rev limiter, slammed the gas pedal and it freed up. Scared the bejesus outa me!
