I have a technical question for everyone. My buddy Trent has a 06 4.8 thats bone stock and he's wanting to buy some headers off of my other buddy that has a 2000 5.3. The headers in question are Edelbrock shorty headers w/ EGR. Will these Edelbrock's w/ EGR work on Trent's 06 4.8 without modification? If modification is needed what would it be? I'd like to get everyones opinion on this. Thanks

They shoud work youll just need to plug the egr port. I think is a 1/8 npt. My headers have a egr port but i just welded them shut.
4.8, TSP 220, 6L90 swap, 3400 Stall, 4.10s w/30" drag radial and T76 @ 16lbs.

Thanks for the info. I just found out that the guy that had them on the 2000 5.3 had the EGR port plugged off. I would think welding it closed as you did would be best so there's no potential for a leak... Do you, or anyone rading this, think that him getting used equal length Edelbrocks for $150 is a better deal than New Pacesetter LT's for 290$ ?Originally Posted by RS/SS 4.8

I would too, but the deal is that one of my friends is trading his truck in that has the equal length Edelbrock headers, and my buddy that's bone stock wants headers and does'nt have allot of $$, and he does'nt really run his truck much, and for $100 I'd probably buy them too if I needed them...
