    whos running a cut-out?

just wanted to get some thoughts and opinions on running a cut out. I have one on my and it sounds awesome with it open. But Im looking at the performance side of it, does it really help? Ive seen people gain 10-15 HP on the dyno when they run with it open. When i have mine open it seems kind of doggy on bottom end, but mid range feels pretty good.
    What do you guys think?

Depends on the exhaust setup. Most of the time an open cutout will gain a few HP's up top but kill some TQ down low. Some guys though make pretty much the same power open/closed.

my exhaust is LTs into ORY into a borla xr-1 muffler exiting out of a corsa tip behind the right rear tire. my cutout is right after it the ORY. its all 3 inch too.
just debating on if i should run with it open or closed at the shootout.

Try both ways a few times. I'd like to see if it makes any diff.

    I think it's just a noise preference.

I have some on my 81 camaro. i honestly can't tell a difference either way. i mean i can wake up the neighborhood with them open, buy performance differences are negligible.

I wanna try and get one on my truck before SAR. Just for noise. A good old crawl under the truck and take the wingnuts and plate off cutout.

That's what i had on the old truck. It sounded awesome open, but that was only for track visits and to turn heads at local car show/mexico races...
