97 silverado 5.3 swap help?????

just bought 97 with 5.7 and 4L60e wanting to 5.3 swap how hard is this going to be and how much am i looking at if i buy a ebay "drop out" i know if it comes out of 02*newer it has drive by wire im lookin at a setup out of a buddys wrecked '01 he pulled motor harness and ecm before crushing truck what else will i need to keep stock tranny

how hard the swap will be depends on how mechanically inclined you are. but if you have some basic knowledge its not that hard at all. to keep the stock trans you will need a flywheel spacer from jegs. its about $50 and the longer bolts.

you will install this between the 5.3 flywheel and your torque converter. you will also need to slot the holes on the flywheel with a dremel or something so they will line up. i did about 1/4 inch inwards on each hole and it lined up fine. other than that it should bolt right up. the only other parts you will need to make this swap work will be motor mount adapters. dirty dingo is the best way to go. i also suggest reading over the obs to lsx swap thread a few times and you can even feel free to read mine. its pretty detailed so should answer alot of your questions. good luck!
