    Speedo problems

Got a 99 silverado with the 4.8 and the 60e. Today I replaced the passenger side motor mount. Had to pull the starter and pick up on the motor a little to get it out. When I hooked the battery back up I noticed my speedo is stuck on 100. When I disconnected the battery it didn't move. Aside from the wires around the starter where should I start looking?

Is the trans in limp mode? That is important. If you cut a VSS wire, you'll blow that trans out real quick driving it in limp mode.

Just hit a bump in the road and it started working again... kinda scary ha ha. Thanks for your input but just for future reference how would the trans act in limp mode and would it throw a ses light?

It would stay in third gear and shift very firm.

    Yeah that's a stepper motor/cluster issue.
