    engine identification

    Just picked up an aluminum 5.3 from an 09 truck. It has the 243 heads and drive by wire tb with 4 bolts. Were can i find info on this engine? Is anybody using it?

    What kind of info are you looking for? There are plenty of people using that and other similar engines. Its just a Gen-IV 5.3.

    Sounds like a LC9, if so it is Flex Fuel version of the LH6

    The LH6 is a flex fuel engine.
    1982 c10 lsx swaped, NP tuned, true duals, 4:11s, trutrac, e-fans, CAI

    It is AFM, but I don't think it is Flex Fuel.
    I thought it was
    LY5-iron block non-flex /
    LH6 alloy block non-flex /
    LMG iron block FLEX
    LC9 alloy block FLEX

    ok, how about how difficult would this swap be to put in my 01 gmc? I was reading about a dod and had no clue what they were referring to. Im thinking ill need a ls3 valley cover and a cable drive tb.

    And you gotta move the knock sensors and run a box to convert the 58 tooth reluctor wheel signal to a 24 tooth signal. Lingenfelter makes the box.
