    A wideband is only a useful tool if you know how to read it as well

    Plugs are not the only way to tune nitrous, but is a far better way than using a wideband. Some people tune by reading plugs, some tune by egt's, some tune just by logging vacuum and watching mph on the time slip, some will just use the wideband. Lots of ways to skin that cat.

    How much nitrous are you planning on spraying? If you're pretty much stock, just going up to a 150shot or so using the stock fuel system, just throw some plugs in there, pull the correct timing and throw the jet in it. Remember, rich is NEVER safe and too much timing will ruin your day in a heartbeat. Put a rich condition with a too much timing condition and you'll end up with an unhappy engine. You would have to be EXTREMELY lean to hurt a motor, and you can't hurt one by running low timing.

    Do some searching around the net and see what you come up with as far as jetting. The jetting really won't change much from vehicle to vehicle since the fuel pressure is the same on all these ls1's. Timing will definitely vary though depending on cylinder heads, combustion chamber, compression ratio, etc etc..

    Nothing wrong with running 1000psi bottle pressure, but just realize you will experience a greater drop in pressure throughout your run. We try to run ours between 900-950psi to keep from having such a drastic loss. Try not to ever let it get below 900psi and you'll be good

    I say a wideband isn't needed because there is no set AFR that a nitrous motor should run at. They're all different. A plug will tell you more about a run than a wideband.

    For example, last time my truck was on the dyno, we made a pull that registered 12.8:1 on the wideband. Pulled the plugs and they said it was still fat. Pulled some more fuel out of it, changed plugs and made another pull. It registered 13.5:1 on the wideband and picked up around 15hp.

    Thank you Danny, I still have a lot to learn about EVERYTHING. It's an all stock 5.3, and yes it would be a 150 shot is all. For now :Lol:. I do need to get HP tuners to sometime. Cause I'll have to have Glenn tune it for the nitrous. And wont always want to drive around like that. I hope to some day get another truck that will be my toy. But for now I have to keep it mild on this truck. I still have to get to work. And it is way to cold to be riding to KZ.

    The only experience I have ever had with nitrous is when I used to run around with the Wilson's. That blue Nova he has was a nitrous sucking hog man. My old car ran mid 12's all motor, and after riding in his car feeling that 150 hit for the first time was just awesome.

    Danny, did you ever know Drew Million? He bought Dave Thomas's old black mustang. Drew Took me for a ride in that when he had a blow and a 50 shot running 9.90s at the time, That was just badass man. Fastest thing I have ever been in.
