you can add power, and youll gain some speed, but wieght and rotating mass kills these trucks man, and you have a 5.3l crew cab 4x4 and then 22s, not the best basis for a quick truck, unless you do basically every mod and a power adder turbo, SC, or nitrous. i mean if youre looking for 14s in the 1/4 it wont be that hard with bolt ons and a cam maybe, but stock lightnings will still be a handful, much less a sports car. what im trying to say is get ready to spend some money if you wanna make a truck go fast, especially a land boat.

Go with a smaller cam, ported heads with small combustion chambers, a 9.5/10.5" 3200+ stall torque converter, 4.88's, etc and you should be rolling out pretty good.

Thanks guys for all the help and info. I know people are saying if i wanna go fast with tires and all get a Diesel. But everyone has Diesels. Not many people around here have quick 1500 GMC's and Chevys. If i were to go with a turbo or SC which one would be better and which brands stand up to there name the best?

believe me im the last person that is gonna tell you that you cant make it quick, just be prepared to spend more than youre expecting, im not a turbo guy but i believe garret ball bearing turbo's are pretty good, allen(farmtruc) casey (casey23) jon(dbrods) mitch (sprayeddenali) or greg (redheartbeat) are probably the best people to ask about a turbo oh and george (quik)

Based on your questions I would go SC dont go turbo. SC is more of a bolt on deal
    Name: Mark,
God created turbo lag so nitrous trucks could have a chance.

I can get a 6.0 LQ4 i believe it is. Any thoughts on stroking it to a 408 and modding it to be able to handle the big tires? Money really aint a big deal. Im not loaded by no means but i have been saving up for awhile with a bunch of storm work money!!!

A 408 is definitely going to give you a ton of power, however that is going to require a ton of supporting mods to match the build. I think you should get a magnacharger as has been suggested previously. The reality of the fact is your going to have to spend a lot of money to get that thing moving.
I think you should do a few things at a time and see how you feel about it.
In this order a very good start.
    1) Custom Tune
    2) Bolt on's (CAI, Exhaust, etc)
    3) Gears (4.10's if shorter tire than 31.5" or at least 4.56's for anything taller than 31.5")
    4) Stall and Cooler
    5) Cam
    6) FI or more cubes
    7) Both FI and more cubes
Note: If you are going beyond Step4 plan on getting a bunch of supporting mods. (Fuel, trans, etc)

13's aren't too fast, but it's enough to have some fun. A junkyard LQ4/9, heads, cam, badass converter, and supporting mods will get you in the 13's no problem. If you want 12's N/A in a lifted truck, just give up now, lol.
