thinking about: this cam setup http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CCA-54-426-11/
and a 3000 stall converter if i can find any good deals. been trying to find a used cam with springs and roller rockers, but no good finds yet

Got my tranny today. 4l80e with torque converter and inspection plate. its sitting next to my old 4l60e (on the left). It shows you how much more beefier it is. The only thing im concerned about is the connectors. Theres connectors on the tranny by the shift linkage, but on my harness I dont see the same connectors? Also the tranny mount is alot different, its hanging way off to the side, do i just unbolt that and use the old tranny mount thats mounted on my transfercase?

Worked alot on the truck over the weekend, bought a QTP lift plate off Amazon for $54, and it worked awesome. Kept the motor nice and centered when installing. As for the dirty dingo motor mounts, i had a heck of a time getting them lined up. The drivers side lined up perfect for me right on the first try. but the passenger side was about a half inch off! After a good 3 hours of banging with a 3lb mallet, i finally took a pry bar and a ratchet strap strapped to the bar and to the frame, i sucked the motor mount towards the engine. It did work, but it was ALOT of work. I was hoping it was an easy set in like everyone else has been saying. They really are nice mounts, just not sure why it was so far off. Other than that, im goin to keep going at it. Need to find out what Im doing for my transfer case now....

Got a few more things done. Cleaned and scuffed the tranny, painted it and put a new front pump seal in it while it was out. Got the transfer case ready to hook up, but when I disconnected it I guess theres a paper gasket that goes inbetween that NAPA doesn't have. So either I am going to silicone it, or go to my local Chevy Dealer this weekend to see if I can find one. Getting the tranny under the truck was a bastard (all by myself). Just because it was so big/heavy/bulky. I had to jack the truck up and put it on blocks just so I could get the tranny under neath. Then since its so heavy I took ratchet straps underneath it, and pulled it up so i could get my jack under neath it. That actually worked out well for those of you who attempt that in the future by themselves.; Right now its just sitting on the jack, propped up under the truck. Tomorrow I will get it bolted together if everything goes right. Also, NAPA doesn't have knock sensors either???!!! WTF NAPA your slowly losing my business! For putting the new seal in, its simple: I just take a screw driver and get behind the lip of the seal and just pry out. Make sure not to mess up the seal housing though, otherwise it may leak. Once you get the new one, lube it up. I just used wheel bearing grease (you dont need alot). Line it u with the hole, and a few taps with the hammer it will pop right in.

Got the tranny bolted up to the motor this morning. Lined up pretty good, for me finding out that the pins that help you line the motor and trans up were missing at the last second. Still got it bolted in with the torque converter bolted to the crank. Going to put the transfer case in a little later. I have to clean the old paper gasket material off and add some silicone first. I went with a 94 3/4 241c transfercase so it matches the 32splines. Get step by step closer to getting to the wiring. oh yea. long tubes will be here monday :-)

K heres some updated pics. Ran into alot of problems this morning :-(. First I was testing out the transfercase by shifting it, and it wouldnt go into 2wd (probably because the 4l80 pushed it back 2 inches) So I was going to try loosening up the linkage and it broke.

THEN I tried hooking up the tranny linkage, and its not even close to working?! Can you use the old linkage on the new swap? Or what do you have to use. I took some pics of it, its close to the hookup but u can see it gets hung up on the plastic nuetral safety switch.

And I hooked up my power steering stuff but the lines are so long I have to run the high pressure one out the wheel well, then it swings back in. Hate the look of it. Looks cobbled...anything I can do to fix it? Took some pics of this too, hopefully someone can confirm that I have the hydroboost blocked off correctly. I just took an old cap off a radiator and clamped it.

The first set of pics will just be of the progress that I have made

K this set of pics is for the tranny linkage. Im not sure why it wont fit, I don't recall anyone having this problem on their 4l80e builds. It just seems too long, its hitting the plastic casing of the sensor on the side of the tranny...heres some pics
