I would say 80% of us use HPtuners
I would say 80% of us use HPtuners
They are both good.
I am going with HP Tuners because that's what everyone I know uses and that's what my builder (Nelson Performance) uses.

I went with HPT just because its what the majority uses.

I have heard that hp tuners is "best" (as in easiest to use maybe?) for gas burners where as efi live is better suited for diesel applications. Take that with a grain of salt though because I have no factual evidence of that and I do not know enough about either one of them to know either way. It does seem like most lsx guys are using hp tuners and most diesel guys use efi live. Of course, there are plenty of exceptions to that generalization. Blackbear and Nelson Performance are arguably the top two gm truck tuners and Blackbear uses efi live, where as Nelson Performance uses hp tuners. They will both definitely get the job done.
Try searching on ls1tech and see if you can find a thread that reveals the important differences between them and hopefully that will help you decide.
