    E85 More Horsepower? etc.

Well felllas i was just curious about this stuff and if anyone has tried it. I had seen a guy on PT that ran e85 in his truck and it was a second faster than the other full bolt on 6.2s if I am not mistaken. I have a few questions.

    1. How much HP would e85 give on a 6.2 and are there any other advantages?
    2. I know did decreases mileage. How much really? I wanna say it is 50 cents cheaper than reg gas here but i dont care. i would just run it when i felt like going fast
    3. Will it adjust with a Nelson Tune like it does from 87-93? or do i need to buy hp tuners?
    4. is e85 safe for nitrous, turbos, or superchargers?

i dont wanna come off as an idiot. i just have not read much about this as i dont see that many people use it.

    Thanks fellas!

e85 on a N/A setup really isnt worth it, you will use 30% more fuel than you do with 93 and would have to swap between tunes if you wanted to see any gains. You could swap between it and 93 without chaining tunes but all you will be doing is burning more fuel and wasting taxpayers (my) money...

I cant say from personal experience but the guy you are talking about (area47) says because e85 is around 103 octane he can run much more timing on e85 compared to his 93 tune and he said he was able to pick up close to a full second in the 1/4 with his timing change. If it was available where i lived i would run it!

I guess I'm confused on E85. I thought it was 85 octane and that is why it takes more to get a good burn. If it was 110 octane wouldn't it burn better? My truck is SD tuned and runs like crap on e85. Which would make sense if it takes more fuel and your mpg go down. I obviously know nothing about this so someone school us.

I'm pretty sure the truck is a 2wd crew cab that he tuned on his own.

From what I read it is 85% alcohol and 15% gasoline. Burns cleaner and came out so our country wont be so dependant on oil.
