I think if your going for super high hp lower is better. But it'll be a turd outa boost. There's alot to read on this. I did a ton and I stayed around 10.6:1 for my setup

Well I'm getting Allen to do the actual turbo build, I just want to knock some things out while I'm waiting to recover from moving and the holidays. Of course I'll go by what he says, I haven't actually asked him about the heads and CR, I know he is a busy guy and I try no to bug him too much. It's not like I'm taking it down there next week. Shooting for 650-700 at the wheels.

    Wouldn't it depend on what 6.0 heads he's going to use? 243's came on a 6.0l (LS2)

True, but either would drop compression.

He has a 2011, his 5.3 probably already has 243/799s and flat top pistons.

I forgot about that. You'd think that with those heads being more common now that the price for a used set would go down.

now what 6.0 heads you thinking? L92 or the 243 since you have a gen IV?

317s on a 5.3 net you 8.4 cr extremely low,

your better off with 9.0-9.5 for most builds
    2002 Lightning - GT headed 5.5Litre w/ Twin 7665s
    2002 Silverado - 427Lsx w/ Twin gt4202s
    2010 Silverado crewcab Z71 - 5.3litre w/ procharger
    2000 Wrangler - 5.3litre with some stance
    2014 Xsport- 3.5 Eco boost

it ain't that I'm too big to listen to the rumors, It's just that I'm too damn big to pay attention to 'em..That's the difference

The 317's are the only ones I have looked at so far. I would be interested to know what you would suggest though.
