    I'm guessing your putting the cats in since they connect the sniffer to your tail pipe? If you getgood high flow cats they really don't rob any power just help quiet down the engine and get rid of the gassy smell from the exhaust!

    This is going to be a nice swap it should run great!
    If I were to cam it I would want to do everything at once i.e. cam, springs, pushrods, Yank converter, and a fully built trans which would just about double the cost of the swap. It would be simpler to do it now but I simply can't afford it, I just need to get the 5.3 in ASAP because I don't trust the current engine at all right now and my last tank I got ~11 MPG.

    I'm going with Nelson since it will save me money in the long run due to free retunes, the reputation they have, and their customer service. I was going to go with Wheatley but due to lack of communication skills I'll take my business elsewhere.

    As far as cats go, I'm getting them to pass the sniffer and to keep the rasp down, I really don't care about how my exhaust smells

    I can see your logic. I was just thinking since it's not installed yet you can add the cam,pushrods,springs,retainers. I agree on the built trans/converter! Your going to need it!
    I have heard alot of good things about nelson and don't doubt their abilities. IMO id feel better having a tune done in person with a wideband and dyno if possible. BUt hey different strokes different folks! I have heard the same thing about Wheatly too. I tried calling him,pat g, and someone else before i ended up with Flaco. So what are you going to do about your rearend? It's going to need some upgrades too! I like the way your truck looks! Should be a great build and walk on some newer trucks!

    All in due time my friend, all in due time. I'll be saving for new wheels/True Trac when the swap is done.

    To run a smaller profile tire, I don't like all the sidewall flex I have with these.

    Right now I have 255/70/15 (~29") tires on a 15x7 wheel.

    I forget the profiles of the tires I want but it will be 255/xx/18 on a 18x8 wheel on the front and 295/xx/18 mounted on 18x9.5 for the rear wheels. Both sets of tires are ~28".
