You do not need the old ecm for anything. The new PCM just needs power, it controls the trans and engine. The gauges read from the sensors on the engine.

Got my engine out yesterday. Now jsut waiting for some more parts to arrive and trying to clean out engine bay. 20 years of tar and greaseanyone got a miracle way to get it out?
