    Need new tires

Ok so Monday I walked out to go to lunch and the truck had a nice flat tire on the driver side rear. As I dont have a spare or a jack in the truck anymore and have free towing I had it towed to the house where it currently sits on jackstands with no wheel/tire. Saw a small nail in the tread and was gonna take it down to Discount Tire and have it fixed...then noticed the nice hole in the inside sidewall.

So Im needing some new tires. I loved these BFG's but hate the fact that NO ONE keeps them stocked so if I need a new one, or two, its a 3-4 day wait time. Looking for something around 30" or 31" tall. Right now its at 31.5" tall. Current size is 285/60-18. Not getting rid of the wheels cuz we just got them coated.

Dont really need a "performance" tire, but do want something that rides good and isnt gonna just go up in smoke all the time.

You need what I have. Hankook RH06's. Ride awesome, great longevity, cheap, decent dry traction, great wet traction.

Only problem with them is that they dont come in a close size..... The only size they offer in 18's is 295/45-18 and thats 28.5" tall. Not willing to drop down that much without having a drop on the truck yet.

I looked at the Hankook Ventus AS RH07's and they look pretty good also. They were recommended to me a while back by the guys at the tire shop I normally go to.

So I've been doing some looking and found a few other sizes I would be willing to change to.
285/60-18 is obvioulsy the first choice being its already whats on there
275/60-18 is 31" and thats nut too much of a difference.
265/65-18 is 31.6" and even less of a difference.

A few tires I found that are offered in the sizes I looked at are:
    Hankook Ventus AS RH07
    Kuhmo Ecsta STX
    Toyo Proxes ST II
    Falken Ziex S/TZ04
    Yokohama Geolandar H/T-S G052
and what I've already got the BFG g-Force T/A KDW2

I LOVED my Proxes IIs. I had them on my old 17s. I dont have any really good pictures of them.

This was the first night I put them on.

Just talked to the guys at Discount....he said he could get me a deal on the Yokohama Geolandar H/T-S. $151/tire plus mount and balance. Comes out to be like $670ish for a set.

Been having trouble with places being able to get the tires im looking for...no one can find the RH07's which were on the top of my list or the Toyos which were also pretty high on the list.

What do you guys think about the Falken tires or the Yokohama tires? Seems like just about everywhere I call has them in stock all the time and recommend them...not sure if that makes it a good thing or a bad thing.

My falkens suck. They have great wet traction but, After 25,000 miles they are shot. if they spin at all the tire literally just falls apart. The guys at discount told me it was fine I told them otherwise . My tires have spots in them that are just missing and I drive like a grandma 75% of the time.

I put yokohama Geolanders on my mom's truck and they spin really easy but for her they last forever. They have 10k on them and still have 90% tread left.

ive had four sets of falkens since feb 2010, they are great but suck for traction if you drive wild on the streets... They all lasted a long time thats for sure... The ones I have now still look brand new... But your not exactly lookin for a performance tire so.i say find a general... Bunch of truck guys get good milage outta them...
