how about junkyard lq9, forged internals (depending on mileage the stock internals might be fine) ported 243 heads, stall, custom spec boost cam, lt headers, used TVS supercharger or Kb racing turbo kit(dont buy long tube headers if you go turbo obviously) and 3.73 gears with true trac, and of course a custom tune from sponsor for all under 10k??
    06ccsb, cammed, stalled, geared

I like all the ideas, but no boost and no nitrous.

Does the year of the car or truck that the motor and transmission come out of matter much for my swap?

I may be wrong, but I believe pretty much all LQ9's are created equal and year shouldnt matter. I would try and find something with lower miles though, which will prolly mean newer.
