im interested in this topic as well, i keep hearing that the ls6 cam isnt a good upgrade, but looking at the specs it is clearly better then the stock cam... i would really like to see someones drag results with a stock truck+z06cam if anyone has JUST a z06 cam and a time slip please post!

Ok guys, just a little update for those who are curious. I've been tuning on this set up the past couple days and at least on the dyno it seems pretty good. My baseline pull on my stock 5.3 out of an 02 Avalanche was 216 whp. I put the 02 Z06 cam in and with a little extra timing I've got 278 whp out of it so far. No knock yet and it's a little rich at 12.8 so there might be a little more to squeeze out if it. Pulls done on a Mustang dyno, tuning with HP tuners. Sorry, crappy cell phone pic.

I'd say that's a very worthwhile upgrade seeing for how little you can get an LS6 cam for

how does that Scoggin cam idle? Im looking for something for mine that has a choppy idle and works with the stock 4l80e converter alright. Only mods on this lm7 are the ls2 intake/accessories/long tubes/exhaust with no cats. What kind of springs did you use?

Awesome gains! Is that with stock manifolds, or headers? The baseline sounds like stock manifolds - if the cam is with stock manifolds, I'll be finding a cam tomorrow!

Stock truck manifolds on baseline and this one. The only difference in set up was 2 1/2 duals with magnaflows on the baseline and 3 inch duals with flowmasters on this one. Both exhaust set ups were full length to the back, no cats on 87 octane gas. Haven't had it back on the dyno for final tuning but it's pretty fun to drive.
