To say that they are performance killers may not be true. When I went from stock to 20's I was actually faster so I don't know about that. Of course you won't gain horsepower, but I just know that for me when I added my 20 in American Racing Vanguards I got quicker!

Same here, I've been wondering about this for quite a while. I have a cycling back ground and the lighter the wheel the better. If your wheels get lighter you should get faster. It may start slower but once they start to role they should get quicker. Obviously there has to be a line as to how big they get or they won't role, but whare is that line?
Also if you get more tire on the ground and the wheel is liter you should stop better, no?

I have had my 20s on and off my truck 10 times and finally got rid of them. The major factor in my decision was getting spanked by a pos ford that I had outrun time after time....if you go 4.10 gears and dont mind 100 plus pounds a wheel go for it.Also dont forget about losing brakeing power as well.My 2 cents stay with a 17 or 18 wheel and keep your performance. There are lots of trucks that look cool but when you pull there ass by 3 truck lengths in a 1/4 they dont look so cool.

So who make's the lightest 18"s?
Man, I'm trying to get my cam installed and now I'm thinking on changing wheel's.
Does it ever stop.

It's not the dayly driver so I have all the tiume I need. Give that cam a push in the right direction and get it in you will love it.
