    not true i have a 07 aluminum 5.3L Gen IV. it feels lighter than the iron 5.3L thats for sure was easy moving it on the engine stand.

    ya, lots of 5.3L blocks are aluminum now, almost every one of them we tear into and are 07+ are aluminum.
    haven't really paid attention to see if the 4.8L is alumin, think it's still iron, not sure though.

    ya, i can bench press an aluminum 5.3L about 30times, and the iron block only 22times, much heavier

    I'm curious to see this. 400 ponies out of my engine is do able but I'm just looking to see what set up you use.
