Here's some updates of how my swap is turning out, I'm almost to the start up point now and loving the ls motor even more (even thought it's not running yet). All I have left to buy is the radiator hoses and 1 trans cooler line fitting which I will purchase tomorrow..

Here's how my 93 GMC looked when I bought it...

and after I bought and installed my HD Backwoods 18"x9" wheels and 285/65/18 Nitto Terra Grappler Tires

Here's a little before shot of the engine bay and interior as it looked when I bought it..

Here's my 5.3 as it was after we pulled it from the wrecked 01 truck a friend of mine had..

Here's how the 98 dash looked before a couple coats of Duplicolor charcoal grey interior paint...

Now for the fun pix The 5.3 is in and the wiring modified to a standalone harness and installed on the engine... Oh yea all that was after rebuilding the 01 4l60e due to the input clutch set being worn out..

and now all that's left to wire up is the 98 gauges and the hot wires for the engine harness..

And some updates on the 98 interior install...

nice build man how hard was the dash swap to get all the ac vents working and all the wiring?

    1989 RCSS 5.3/4L60E swap
    - 224/230 .581.591 112lsa,
    - 3200 Stall
    - DJM 4/6 drop
    - Nelson Tuned

Building the truck GM never did..

Thanks, the dash swap wasn't to bad the hardest part is getting it back in in one piece because they're brittle from the sun. With my swap I swapped everything havc ducting, evap core, dash wiring the whole nine yards because i was able to get everything i could possibly need with the exception on the brake pedal assy (which is a major pita to remove 93 has 6 spot welds the 96-99 has 4 + adheasive) from a parts truck my buddy bought the engine out of and the guy threw in everything else for free so i got both doors towing radiator and as much interior and wiring as we could haul.
