You brought up a good point, which made me think, it's not all about hp and the 1/4 mile times. We've done a few trucks that I swear they are some of the best daily driven trucks, which would put them in the group I call "True Street Truck". There's actually a point where to much hp isn't a good thing. Lot's of ppl say, "i'd love a 1000hp street truck", but it's actually really dangerous. Not that I care about that either, but driving the vehicle becomes a chore.
Two trucks that I love driving when they are here for upgrades or retunes are the Red one, it runs a high 10sec now, is lowered 5/7, has just enough hp and will stand it's ground against a lot of vehicles on the road, even beats most bikes on the open highway.
The second truck is the bigass turbo we did on this crewcab. 408, oversized thumper garrett, lowered. This truck doesn't make anything near instant boost, which is good for the street, but get it going and it won't stop pulling.

I know there are a lot of other trucks just like these, so they'd fall into the category as well. Just posting what is a good street truck imo.

Oh, and one thing these two have in common, RELIABILITY! You can run the dog crap out of them and not be working on it the next day.

Now my truck, the old farmtruc, it's not fun on the street anymore. It's only on 16psi, very low compression, so the engine is hardly working, and forget anything under a 90mph pull. If I take it up to high boost around 22psi, forget it. I know there are ways around all this to make it street worthy, but i've decided to race it at the track and not the street. Even though it'll drive across town and back and still gets really good mileage, considering...

I think around 600hp is good for a daily driver... Turbo hp, not naturally aspirated hp... big gas difference from what I hear...
