6L80 will handle a lot of abuse, I logged well over a 100 runs on my 2010 CC shifting so hard it would do 1, 2 and 3rd gear scratches. I gave that truck to my Daughter for graduation and she is still driving it today with out any problems. I believe there is about 19,000 miles on it now, maybe more.

Allen has a video on here some where of it shifting, I will see if I can find it.

Well here is the link to the old video of the 6L80 shifting, but it seems the link is no longer active.

Maybe we can get a Mod in here to check it out and make it work.

Nice but I don't see me doing that with a NA 5.3 that I'm trying to maintain decent fuel economy. My old Avalanche was a different story.

My 5.3 was NA just had Nelson Tune, CAI, Headers, Muffler.

Wish the video was working so you could see what the new 5.3s are capable of with a good tune.

I may still have Allen do a tune for me but I couldn't resist playing with it a little any longer. Here's is what I did:

Eliminated the speed limit that the TB could open in 1st gear
Lowered PE delay from 5000 to 2500rpm
Eliminated speed limiter (actually set it for 150)
    TCM commanded TM disabled
Brake stall rpm eliminated (it was 1500 rpm)
slightly raised 1-2 shift points under light throttle
Reduced shift time "normal" (non-TH mode) adder by 50% on all upshifts

DAMN! it's now scratching the ground on 1-2 AND 2-3 shifts and the 3-4 shift will jerk your head back. I did not touch the engine TM, just the trans TM. It feels like a different truck.

I drove it around a little at lunch and think that the adaptive learning is softening up my part throttle shifts.

Anyone have any input? Did I go too far with reducing the TM? This thing is shifting like my old Avalanche did with a shift kit and tune.
