I'll be happy to let cam and springs go for cheap. Z06 cam seems to work well with boost.

it seems to be a good boosted cam but since he wants to go na for the time being i reccomend like a 212/218 low lift. more cam for na now and will still be good for boost later imo. unless your getting the z06 cam for free or hella cheap, i say go bigger, i think you will b disapointed otherwise

I got an LS6 cam free and put it in my wife's 98 OBS 5.3 truck. I think it runs pretty good personally, better than nothing. If I had to buy one I would have used Scoggin Dickey's 214/218 (again, wife's daily driver truck.)

im interested in this topic as well, i keep hearing that the ls6 cam isnt a good upgrade, but looking at the specs it is clearly better then the stock cam... i would really like to see someones drag results with a stock truck+z06cam if anyone has JUST a z06 cam and a time slip please post!
Ok guys, just a little update for those who are curious. I've been tuning on this set up the past couple days and at least on the dyno it seems pretty good. My baseline pull on my stock 5.3 out of an 02 Avalanche was 216 whp. I put the 02 Z06 cam in and with a little extra timing I've got 278 whp out of it so far. No knock yet and it's a little rich at 12.8 so there might be a little more to squeeze out if it. Pulls done on a Mustang dyno, tuning with HP tuners. Sorry, crappy cell phone pic.

I'd say that's a very worthwhile upgrade seeing for how little you can get an LS6 cam for
