    will it work???

my heads are decked .025" and i believe i found the new cam i am wanting to get..

the 228-228 has a valve lift of .588 will i have enough clearance in between my valves and pistons???

could i go bigger and still be safe, if so how much bigger?

It depends on the valve events. Chances are you'll be fine though. Clay the pistons, assemble motor, turn it over a few times pull the head and check the clay.
