Go 4l60e at minimum, 4l80e if you can. You say you have an uncut harness already, if its an auto harness, there is no additional wiring just plug it in and go.

1 extra vss sensor. That's it. The 80e is going to hold 2-3x the power the 60e will and if you're towing, the 80e can take the abuse all day.

sweet, 4l80e it is! Any year better to get than another? Prefereably something i dont need to modify the driveshaft with . I def DO NOT need to use this UBER expensive built 4l65e for this thing. Besides my circle d converter is a bit extreme for this setup anyways.

As for the converter, do i just use a stock 4l80e converter? ? Will the flex plate that came on the 5.3 work?

Thanks for all the help. I am sorry for the qusestions, there is just so much variety in things its a bit confusing. I cant say ive ever been an automatic dude either. Im used to t56's...

Well i found a trans out of a 02 express 2500 2wd van. Its a 4l80e with 90k miles on it for 600 bucks. Does not come with a torque converter. Is there a spot you guys know of that i could get a converter from that is good and will not cause me any issues? I guess i need to get a oem 6.0 flexplate also or is the 5.3 one the same?

    Thanks for all the help.
