SSS Tranny No Overdrive!! Help please

My friend has a Silverado SS that he put a vette servo into. The guy didnt put the seal in the right way and it leaked fluid. He didnt notice till it started slipping, but immediately stopped it. After a fillup and fixing the seal its not taking overdrive. Is the transmission shot or is there a way to get it fixed? 2nd gear was slipping a little before the servo was put in and I smelled the fluid. It smelled worse than mine does. If it needs a rebuild can someone recomend a reputable builder near Paris Texas. Thanks

There is a good builder in Ashdown AR, but I'm sure there is somebody good around Paris too.

4th apply piston in backwards. Do it one more time and turn the 4th apply piston around, making sure none of the seals are damaged.

Thanks gasguzzler. My cousin did the instal to a bunch of local trucks. All were fine but this one did have it in backwards. I told him wat you said but he
was sure it was burnt out. When he put one in his tahoe he didnt get the snap ring into the second grove and it had the same problem. After fixing it he decided to check the SSS
and sure enough it worked fine after he turned it around.
