I am posting these questions here bc I know there are tuners here because I am currently deployed to Afghanistan and these forums are my life blood. I would at least like to go to a tuner when I get back with some knowledge of what is going on.

if at home you are near S.A. Tx, your best bet is Allen Nelson for tuning.

IMHO I'll go SD tune (speed density)

btw, thanks to you and all the great man and woman risking their lives everyday for the greatest gifts of all.....freedom

I am originally from TX closer to the Houston Area, but currently reside in NC. There is a reputable shop close to me that has been recommended, but I really want to learn more of this myself and I wasn't aware that a SD tune would be better sutied for my needs. The books that I have are very vague when it comes to tuning so these forums are my life blood.

It's people like you that keep me in(no homo), thanks for your support.

Ok so I read up a little on the SD tune. From what I am gathering I need a 2 or 3 bar MAP sensor and a different IAT(intake air tempature correct?) sensor. I can attach a cone style filter straight to the TB while I am N/A. Where do I put the IAT? Does anyone have a part number for the IAT? The motor I bought didn't come with the MAF so I might as well go ahead and get a SD tune now(by now I mean when I get back and get the motor swapped). Should I go to a shop to get the SD Tune or can it be done by mail?

It can be done by mail if you have a way to log. It'd be hell though.

    no mail order sd tunes.

edited: your post beat mine, just by seconds.

ya, only if you have hptuners or other, can it be done by mail order.
we tuned a gto twin turbo 2bar, sd, made over 600hp and runs low 10's in the 1/4 mile, stock engine, he's from Puerto Rico., so it can be done.

Thanks for mentioning my long distance SD tune 11 sec 1/4 mile silverado !!!! (Fag)

I used Blazer IAT AC213243. It must be installed before the TB (throttle body) so maybe a tube and then the air filter might be a good idea !

2bar map sensor I have is GM 12580698

For email tuning you'll need a software (we most use HPtuners around here) $400-$600
