Well i removed spring so wastegate would open right away and still upwards of 15 pounds! does this mean i need a bigger gate than a 38?? How big should i go?

are you saying with no spring in the gate [which means constantly open] your still over boosting? what is the postion of the gate? the gates exhaust is it routed back into downpipe or vented to atmosphere? if merged into DP is it on a angle or more of a 90*?

I have the gate mounted to a 4in flex coupler and its at about a 45 degree angle flowing with the exhaust. I have vented to atmosphere, and into DP and i get same results. Its a bone stock 6.0 with a turbosmart 38mm ultra gate, and a borg warner 76mm. Im gonna take the wastegate completly off tomarow and see if it still builds boost. I am running out of ideas.

Can you even hear it opening? It will be plenty noticeable when it opens.

yeah my trucks turbo setup was built by synergy , and was changed a bit by me as well as the tune and pretty much every thing else on the truck , ill be building my own turbo setup soon but not on this truck . im happy with it and its staying together and also looks better than 99% of the stuff i see, but thats not the point or the point of this thread but always seems to be brought up everytime i post .

it could be a bad angle of exhaust routing bypassing flow that should be going into the wastegate, or the one bank that isnt wastgated is making enough flow to keep the turbo spooling . that can work but isnt ideal in a setup id build.

pics will help a ton as most have said .

single and dual springs can be combined to make different pressures. in your case you need to find the source of the problem if you have a very weak spring in it now.
