Personally, I wouldn't use that cam with boost if it has 11* of overlap, but that's just me. Cam usage, selection, and preference is a VERY divided topic so you will hear many different suggestions when it comes to cams. My cam specs are:
580/580
220/222
114 LSA
Just to give you an idea of what I believe is a decent boost cam. Hope this helps
~ Forged engine of some type ~ Ball bearing turbo of an unconfirmed size ~ 4L8000 trans ~ Beefy fuel system ~
That's what I thought about the cam, so I'll just wait 'til I stuff in the bigger cubes.
Thanks.
Listen up cam expert...... he has boost but it IS NOT a turbo....... So overlap is fine as long as he has enough blower/pulley to make boost .. My shop truck has a EPP blower cam... 232/240 115 600 600 or so.. And it makes over 620 on a mustang dyno on 10psi ....... 2004 LT Ex cab 2wd 5.7L 4l60 10psi and full weight truck..... 11.50-11.70 in the heat on pump gas and NO meth.... I think there are better cams then the ASA cam... but if you own it already then use it.... I like 4-6 degree split with a blower
