Thumbs up Help me pick out a track rim/tire combo

Searched and didn't come up with enough info for me to feel that I would make a good decision on my own. I've been looking at tire/wheel combos trying to figure out what would be best for me. The conclusion I came to is, I don't know enough to decide on what the hell I should get. I know that I'm not pushing enough power to need anything too big. These will be drivin to the track, ran, then drove home. Not lookin to have them on all the time. The following are some questions I have.
I've got 4.10's behind a FLT lvl5 4l65, so should I stay between 26-28"tall, 10-12" wide. What would be too big for my truck's power (325 at the wheels)? I spun bad on my street tires (partially to track prep). Truck only went 14.2 and i know it has a lot more potential. Any particular setup that worked well for you? I've got the stock 17's too, so if you know of a tire that will fit and work well, please, let me know. Not lookin to break the bank, but don't want to skimp too much. I'd say I'm limiting myself to $800.
I'd like to just get a setup for the rear so I'm thinkin these rims: http://www.jegs.com/i/Mickey+Thompso...60412/10002/-1
But I don't know what tires would suit me best, I'm thinkin theses are the one's I'm going to chose between. Just need some experienced opinions:

On a side note, could I fit these on a stock SS rim? http://www.jegs.com/i/Nitto/726/4058...64#moreDetails
If not, anyone heard anything good about these? http://www.jegs.com/i/Nitto/726/4045...95#moreDetails

Thanks in advance. I know I'll get quite a few replies. I figure I should address my traction before adding more power.

Low, what size are those? And would you ship?
Skeet, I am going to be adding N2O soon (within the year) and don't want to "waste" money buying some that are too short. Don't want to trap with too high of an RPM.

295/45/17's, might try to get a weight to ship but it will be high for all 4 tires and wheels

Yeah, I saw your post over on PT.net. Looks like what I'm wanting, just not worth paying the shipping. If I were closer I'm 90% sure I'd pick them up from you. No need for fronts. I'll prolly just runs stockers there for now. Good luck on moving them though.
