    Muffler opinions for 6.2l

I need some suggestions for a muffler for my 6.2. The Spintech is retarded loud and although I love the sound, it isn't going to work out. I really hate to do Magnaflow, but I need something that is going to be a little tamer when on the throttle than this. I've been looking at the 22" Magnaflow but I just think that's going to be a little too quiet. Need opinions here guys... Gonna try to get one ordered and weld it up before SAR.

I just cut the resonator (or whatever's at the end of the tailpipe) off. I just let it dump there. Sounds good to me for stock, but mine is more of the family truck (until the wife get an SUV) so, it doesn't need to be too loud.

Why not go with an 18" Magnaflow? Also, do you not like Flowmasters? The Cherry Bomb Vortex muffler sounds pretty good. It's not "tin can" sounding like Flowmasters. It actually resembles the sound of Magnaflows, but not quite as burbly. Also, the Hooker Aerochambers sound good. That's what Holley put on their 67 shop truck with the LS3.

Yeah, looking at 300$ for one of those and that is out of the question. I'm not paying 300$ for a muffler.

I need to find a 3.5" bullet or resonator that would quiet it down enough and maintain the sound. I'm not going to test 27 different ones and lose a little money on each one until I find what I like and what works for me.

I traded my stock exhaust for this muffler.

I would if it would quiet it down and maintain sound.

I've been trying to stay away from Magnaflow in general because it seems like EVERYONE has one. I tend to try to take the road less travelled on things like this. I had a Super44 Flowmaster on my 5.3 and loved the sound but Flowmasters tend to be restrictive and resonate in the cab, which is why I'm looking for something a little more free flowing. If I can get this Spintech sold for a decent price (it has like 200 miles on it) I would buy the 18" Magnaflow right now.

Why not the spintech pro street 6000? It's a quiter version of the 9000 you have and is supposed to have the same tones

IMO, magnaflow is the best as far as performance and sound. But you're right, they tend to be a little quiet, but get a shorty one and it'll sound nice, but not too country.

My vote is for the 22" Magnaflow. I've got that exact muffler on my truck, in a 3" SI/SO configuration. It was quiet at first but got louder with time. Sounds awesome under load, but decently quiet on the highway.

Here's a quick vid for reference, and mine is through a stock 5.3, so guaranteed yours will be a lot louder than mine.
