Get away from tire weights. Run air soft pellets. That way you won't have any issues as Devin stated. But i too mounted tires for 7 years, never had any real issues with off brands.

And they are cracking because the rubber is checking, it is completely normal.
will a shop do the airsoft balls? i don't have a lathe or balancer (or access to either right now), so it's out of the question to do it myself. but i do have thousands of plastic BBs

as for my michelins, what does "checking" mean? they were made in '05 & have been on the truck since at least Nov '06 when i bought it. i've had it at a shop or two to rotate & they said they can't legally mess with them because of the cracking/separation.

Most places that sell semi tires have the beads.

http://innovativebalancing.com/ is a little bit of information, WELL worth the money.

That craiglist pic looks like it has A LOT of weight, but so do my swampers. It rides....like a truck. If you want a smoother ride, get a street tire. If you go offroad, I don't think those will clean out very well. I'm actually REALLY impressed with the new mickey thompson baja ATZ's. I put 2 of them on the rear of my truck, and it has been a beast. They hook alright on drive pavement (better then my swampers), they clean out really well, and I was getting through snow drafts that 4x4 guys were getting stuck in.
blown transmissions are about as useful as 97% of the guys on this forum
