I'd go with the 285. I know it's not exactly what you're after but here's a pic of mine on 275/60/17's which are 30" tall when it only had shackles on it.

That looks good, i am just hoping that a 16 with a 285/60/16 doesn't look gay.

Why not just run a 285/75/16 and leave lift on? (assuming you're worried about gas mileage?)

I think going TOO small on the tire is going to hurt gas mileage just as much with that 4.10.

With those wheels, you're going to rub pretty much no matter what. Even a 265/70/16 will rub at lockout at stpck height. That's the size we run on the Hoe with 4.10's and it barely gets 17mpg highway. I can get 16-17 on my 36's and 4.56's if i don't drive like...me.

410s and a 30" tire dont hurt gas mileage unless 18mpg is considered bad

Mike if you can find 17s i have 4 275/60/17s you can have they got about 45% thread life left

    SWEET! Thanks George.

Not worried about gas. I have the 04 if it really bothered me with 3.73's. Do a swap and toss 4.10's in the front diff.

Are you high? At basically stock height with 285/60-18 I don't rub. That's 31.5" tall tire. I had 285/75-16's and they BARELY rubbed on the very bottom of the plastic wheel well...so I cut a small notch out and like magic it didn't rub any more!

What size wheel? My buddy's dad had a 2wd with a leveling kit, and his 285/75/16 rubbed a tad bit on stock wheels. He went to a 16x10 mickey thompson classicII and they rubbed like mad. If you're only running a 18x7 or 18x8...that's a lot different then a 16x10 (which is what i believe tanz has)

edit: just re-read...he only has a 16x8. I was probably high
