Just reading up on Ontario's laws regarding n2o. Legally to have it in my truck, I must have a sticker displaying I have a compressed gas in the vehicle (understandable, but not gonna happen), never have the bottle connected on public property, have the bottle openly displayed and my insurance company has to KNOW that my truck is equipped. As if they will still insure me. Here's the kicker, violation of any of these laws is a $2000 fine, or 6 months in jail. Now here's the rant. Ever since those F&F movies started coming out, cops turned into nazi's as far as mods and "stunt driving" go. Thankfully though for the most part they use racial profiling and only target the Import crowd, most of the time. But here's the thing, getting my kit into the country was literally harder than bringing a rifle in. The fines and jail time are more severe than if I got caught selling drugs to eighth graders. Now I'm all for cracking down on the idiots that race Mommy's Accord down residential streets, but to blanket everyone with these anti-mod laws (the n2o ones aren't the only) is absurd. Now here's the best part, every summer the OPP have a take it to the track campaign. Ontario right now has two, that's right, two legitimate drag strips. Both are incredibly out of the way from anywhere. I drive 3 hours. And then what do the cops do? Any major event they sit at the exit of the track and inspect any vehicle they suspect of racing. A friend of mine TRAILERED his car down. He got fines for his slicks, open headers, and lack of emissions equipment. It wasn't being driven but since it was currently licensed for the road. Busted. Frustrating to no end. Thank god they still believe the "I was just watching, who'd race a truck?"
