the 'fuel injection' hose is not rated to be submerged. It will start to deteriorate after a year or two.
Napa sells the good stuff for about $30 a foot as mentioned. I talked to a few suppliers of stainless braided line, and they said NOT to use it. All recommended the blue line-loc hose. Can usually be had for 5-6 a foot.
I have had really good luck with this ebay seller, and he seems to be the cheapest on line-loc and braided hoses

The black hose I got from Napa was submersible. Said it right on the reel they pulled it off of.

We're using the stock style white according flexible hose, in 6" and 12" lengths. I think I got some if you need it, they are cheap.
it doesn't kink and makes u turns nicely.
it'll never wear out either.
we use a heat gun to soften the plastic, then push it on the barb, then as it cools, it shrinks and molds, a clamp it used as well.
