    Hey wuz up guy's?
My latest update on the BeaterTruck project.
Well, I was at a local junk yard this weekend and there it was. A wrecked 2004 chevy truck. Being me I took every good part I could find including a perfect tan dash. It took me half the day to get it all out, but it was well worth it, RIGHT!
So now my old 81 beater has a new 04 dash mounted in it. I still have some stuff to work out like AC vents and wiring for the head light switch, but nothing to hard. I will try and get some pics up soon. My camera is at the shop and I have been doing the dash install in my back yard. (SHADE TREE STILE)

Has anyone ever seen a newer dash in an old truck? I had a 79 TA with a 96 dash in it, but that was already done when I bought it.

If I keep going this way I'll soon have a 99+ truck.

For the most part it is already in. What sucks is I think I'm going to have to mount the tach on top of th dash. There's not enough room where the old cluster was to mount all my gauges. But' on the bright side I can mount the NOS pressure, boost and fuel gauges where the radio used to be. The hole for the radio is so big I think I could mount 6 guages.

BTW I have a 04 Radio CD/TAPE and elc. A/C controll if any body wants them. I don't now what there worth.
    Any ideas?

They put a new dash in a '89 1500. Looks great. Seems like they kept a OBS radio and HVAC controls. I've been planning on doing the same thing when I start the LQ9 6.0 swap in my '98 truck in the next week or two.
