Ok so what's the best way to move the pump up with out buy that small older GM pump? Do they make a relocation bracket?

Yeah I'm not cutting my frame like that!!! Your just asking for problems if you get hit in the front!!! I know cuz we have to cut the frame on are dirt car for the fuel pump when we move the motor back

If you're a good enough welder( I wasn't at the time) and use thick enough metal you shouldn't have a problem with it being weak, if you get hit hard enough for it to make a difference you're f*cked already lol. There is a relocation bracket to use the compressor from an 88-95 truck and I actually have one that I've decided not to use and have been meaning to post it in the for sale section, PM if you're interested.

Ok cool... If I change over to the other pump all I have to do is get the A/C line off of a 88/95 truck and it should bolt right up with out having to build a custom line?

I believe that's all you'd have to do, as long as the 96-98 trucks still use the same fitting size for the condensor and evaporator. You may also have to wire on a connector for the correct pump as well. The bracket I have is made by a guy named josh powers. Its made to be used with the LS truck accesories. I think a few people here have the same setup.

That notch looks better to me than shelling out $500 for relocation kits. Any idea why Nitrous' setup worked and yours didn't? Is there a little bit of wiggle room to raise the engine and maybe run a 90 degree fitting?

If I remember correctly he used car accesories so there was likely a difference in the design of the compressor and where the fitting attached. Idk if he's still around here as I haven't seen any recent post from him, but you might search some of his older post. From the first pic I posted it seems like we both had similar engine mounts so i don't think thats it.
