    vortec pistons

can anyone tell me if i can use pistons for older 350 chevy's in a vortec block? i know the valve relief's may be off a little, but if you can use vortec heads on older blocks. are the pin's the same? just can't see paying 3 times more for piston's for the vortec if i don't have to. thank's

whats the bore size of the block with vortec heads? ("older 350 pistons" have a std bore of 4.0)

i think the bore is the same. i'm going to get +.30 and have it bored for the pistons, so that shouldn't matter,

LS heads wont work on older blocks, that is for sure.

As far as pistons, why risk it? If it doesnt work out, you're going to have more money issues that if you pay more up front.

The pistons should work but might cost you a little power if they are 5/64" ring pistons vs the 1.5mm vortec ring pack.
