I bought my Optima 3 years ago(in the desert they say you rent batteries not buy them) and I've never had a problem...the truck sat for almost 2 months with the battery out. Didn't even hesitate on the first crank.

My mom bought an interstate at the same time and has gone through 3 batteries since...and she doesn't even have a system.

    Deka

I sell Deka and do so because most automative batteries Deka sells have 10yr warranties. I have a 1024DT on my truck that is suspost to be a 1024CA 930CCA but it stays at about 1300CCA. I have had nothing but good luck with Dekas and would suggest you to get one even from someone in your area. just my .02

By far the optima I had a 900 cca red top on my other truck for SIX years and running a 4000 watt stereo and all acessories and when I got my new truck I got another two years put of it before it would stain a little to start so I got 8 yrs out of my red top and I still use it from time to time to start a lawn mower or two

i used to swear by my optima...but it froze after truck sat for a week in driveway. This one is only 4 months old. My last one was 4-5 years. Duralast Gold are pretty good batteries. I'm probably going to get a 34-78 (dual side and top post) in the next week or two.

For plugs....ac delco iridiums if you dont want to mess with them for another 100k miles. NGK TR55 if you want to save some money, and don't mind changing them every year or two. (TR55ix is an iridium version of same plug...but for that price, I'd rather run delco)

look at this way. there is a reason why your factory battery lasted as long as it did. So how about purchase another one and not worry about others like optima and etc

when my stocker from my 02 finally gave way after 7 yrs i bought another factory battery.

it ain't that I'm too big to listen to the rumors, It's just that I'm too damn big to pay attention to 'em..That's the difference

My factory battery is still going, struggles to start the truck when it's cold (like anywhere below -10) but it always does.

my optima has proved itself to me, yellow top. its jumpstarted plenty of diesels, provided music for plenty of partys and always started back up....
