    Weird issue. Almost like VATS

Ok come out of the doctors office today go to fire the truck, it cranks over fires and stalls immediately did this a few times. Called home to get someone to bring me a different key, had a few choice words with the truck and told him he'd be on the hook or be stuck in a strange parking lot, tried one more time and it fired up normally. Coming out of town, playing the snow I locked up the brakes and snuffed the motor, hit the clutch and it it started up normally again. No codes, the CEL did stay on while it was cranking and not starting, not sure if this is normal and I've never seen it or indicates something.

EDIT: Kinda thinking fuel pump too, anyone had issues with them around 45000 miles?

Ok first things first you are correct it does sound like a security issue, but the sure sign is the security light flashing in the IP. Also I feel it is important to be sure everyone understands that the c/k truck has not used a vatts(special key) type system since around 98 so the key itself is not the problem. If anyone would like for me to explain how the security system actually opperates I will be glad to walk you through it. I have noticed several posts refering to vatts type or special keys and wanted to clear that up.
You are probably correct about the fuel pump being possible and the CEL light isn't a good indicator either unless it was still on after it finally started. hope this helps

If I dont prime my pump twice it will crank and crank and crank but never actually start. I started to turn the key and let the pump prime the system and that worked for a while...then it started doing the same crap so I tried priming it then priming one more time and its been working fine since....both methods have lasted me about 4 months.

Im probably going to end up tossing in either a walbro or bosch 044 soon so hopefull it will take care of it.
