The variables are as stated. I'm not going to talk him down anymore...I already know he won't budge on the $1,000.

Just need opinions based on what I wrote.

2800 for something that clean is a helluva deal. You guys don't know how lucky you are, that would be a $6000 truck here.

I would feel bad about ripping off the old guy. Your co worker should to. Tell him you'll give me 500 and old man 2300.

I say buy it... Dibs is for kids... If he was really interested he would be trying to come up with the money faster. I'd buy it and your coworker can just deal with missing out.

I would try another route like getting some good dirt on him and for 1000.00 you wont tell the boss and cost him his job. so he breaks even and you get the truck
Seriously though that is low to chrage you to walk away.

When i bought my 60 acres there was someone who owned 3 acres attached to the road in front and i had to cross his road to get to my land. he wanted to charge me 1000.00 for easement rights.
Even though everyone else already uses the road.
well he was in financial trouble so i made an offer on his 3 acres and he pretty much had to take it. he didn't know it was the same guy who needed easement buying it though

    fixed his ass.
