    4/6 drop

I know you guys have heard this way to much and I am sorry. After alot of consideration I have choosen to go with the 4/6 drop. The drop will ride about 1/2" above the tires. Since you have to get the flip kit first what is a good brand and second what is a good shop went to one today and they wanted $1200 for the flip in rear spindles and springs in front and from what I am reading stay away from spindles. So should I go with the 2" control arm and 2" springs. I just want it done right, I have a 01 silverado ext 2 wheel drive and I am in the houston area
    Work in progress.........

DJM 4/6 is a great kit, had one on the 2000 in my sig for 10 yrs no problems at all.

The DJM kit is a flip kit and lower control arms(NBS). You will use stock springs, spindles & upper control arms.

I would suggest getting some good shocks at the same time. Ive tried many different shocks and the Doetsch Tech Nitro Slammers have the best ride hands down.

DJM's quality has really slipped in the last couple years. Personally I'd stay away from them and go with McGaughys spindles, Belltech springs and do my own flip kit.

Spindles are what you want. McGaughy's spindles keep the stock steering geometry so you will have fewer ball joint issues. Definitely buy the McGaughy's 4/6 drop and a set of good shocks.

I don't know about on the NBS, but on the NNBS the MG kit doesn't seat the ball joints correctly causing severe wear and constant replacement. If it's a NNBS, I suggest Ground Force.

I went with a Belltech setup and love it. I did try dropping the front without the spindles and wish I didnt. The spring drop actually put tension on my tie rods and blew those out in 8 months or so, the ball joints will be toast in another couple months. The spring drop screwd up the castor and wore my tires out also. I could have had it aligned again but I think I would have been replacing the tie rods again in another year. I can feel more travel now with the spindles, overall much better ride. My belltech kit's min rim size was 17" so you might need to plan for your wheel and tire set up too. I had to fabricate a lift shackle to level the driver side. Sits perfect now

i have a mcgaughy's 4/6 (springs/spindles up front and flip kit in the back). From what i've read, djm arms wont let you get perfect alignment, belltech can push your tires out .5" (havent seen it, but ive read it, maybe bomicheal can chime in here). I love my mcgaughy's, the only thing is that if you get mcgaughys, the 16"+ spindles are supposed to give you a better ride and factory turning radius vs the 17"+ spindles i have.

I have the belltech 2' drop spindles nad 2' drop springs they are the ones that require 17'or larger wheels, I love the way it rides, wouldn't change it for anything.
